With Waste Management’s expert sorting and diversion initiatives, recycling is easy and cost-effective – and always remains in compliance with your project plan and city ordinances.

C&D Recycling Process:

1. OFFLOADING - Materials offloaded onto Tipping Floor.
2. SORTING - Large recyclables sorted on conveyor belt.
3. SCREENING - Smaller recyclables pass through screening machines.
4. RECYCLABLES TRANSFER- Recyclables transferred to appropriate facility.

5. WASTE TRANSFER- Non-recyclable materials transferred for proper disposal.

Common Recyclable Materials*:

Waste Management is able to recycle most common C&D debris including concrete, porcelain, rigid plastics, tile, lumber, metals, masonry, plastic, rock, carpet, insulation and more.

Examples of Materials Reuse:

• Inerts > road base
• Cardboard, paper, plastics and metals > converted into new goods
• Clean wood > mulch or biomass fuel
• Dirt, rock and sand > Alternative Daily Cover (ADC) in landfills
• Crushed concrete > gravel or dry aggregate for new concrete
